What to do?
This one was immediately claimed by James as his. A classic granny ripple in shades of blue.

First Project for 2015
This is the first project of the New Year and my personal resolution to get off Pinterest and make something. Here is the link to the pattern and the tutorial. http://verypurpleperson.com/2010/04/making-reversible-bag/My version is not reversible. I made it with home decorator fabric and used lining fabric to keep it from getting too bulky.
Instead of turning through the handles, I left an opening in the bottom of the lining. The fabrics are fun!
So roomy. This will hold everything I need. I will be making this one again.

Pinterest Pattern -- Near Fail
So, warning! The tutorial attached has instructions that will not quite produce the desired results.
Follow the chart rather than the tutorial.
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rochet-hot-pad---doily-autumn-leaf-pattern
The tutorial skips a step with every other row that shapes the leaf. Without that step, the leaf takes on a stair-step look like Lego bricks.
The final step, single crochet all around completes the shape. This is left out of the tutorial and the leaf just looks unfinished without it.
Once I figured out what needed to be done, I just loved the pattern! Follow the chart.
