What is it?

I finished this project for myself just this week. Feeling very accomplished, I asked Cameron what he thought. "Meh." Asking Brianna did little to bolster my confidence. "What is it?" Isn't it obvious? I was suddenly a child asking for feedback on a crayon masterpiece only to get a confused expression and "What is it". Surely it will be received by Brian and James... "What is it?" "A barn?" "A tunnel? That was Brian. James simply said "I don't get it". This isn't Picasso! These are people who understand MineCraft and minimalism. "Stars." Definitely stars, and... Watermelon.
"That's watermelon?"
It was decided that to fully express watermelon, what was missing were the little black seeds. That would make all the difference.

Brian's Vacation Project

What was a slope built up next to the house, covered in river rock that rolled down to the sidewalk with every rain fall...

Is now a terraced retaining wall.

With additional garden area!

The wall makes sense of a yard that is at a much different elevation than the side walk.

Yep, 13 empty pallets!

More pictures to come when the plants are in.

Celebrating with Red, White and Blue

Brianna and Cameron made cupcakes with these fancy candles.

Brian brought home this bouquet.

The rabbit was decked out in red, white and blue.

I was reminded that we need a new flag to post on our porch.
We welcomed a reason to say we're proud to be Americans. Our own family tradition is watching 1776 the musical. Awesome.

And, watching fireworks from a hill near Parker Fairgrounds.
