A little Pinterest Project

This really was a success. Because it is so easy. A little painters tape on top of the vinyl letters helps to transfer them with minimal curling. Added bonus, the painters tape will save you time too. Use as much as you like.

Yes! Completed before Christmas

I couldn't say that last year. http://mcmackinsnewgroove.blogspot.com/2013/12/9-degree-wedge-christmas-tree-skirt.html
I am so happy with this project! It turned out beautiful.

Nutmeg likes it too!

Did you notice the ruffle and the gold top stitching? Love.

Some Fun Scarves

This is a variegated yarn worked on the diagonal. Yep, I found the yarn in the clearance bin. It was a lot of fun to work with the colors and textures.  http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/crocheting/outerwear/skylark-scarf/118777

This one I made wide with a twist when connected the two short edges to close the circle. I can wear it like a shrug or a scarf.

My version of a chunky V-stitch scarf with 3 buttons. Only I didn't use buttons. Lacing works too. No pattern.

New Thanksgiving Decorations

The leaf trivet is from a pattern on Pinterest. Such a fun pattern. I will tell you the story of this project in a different post.
My sweet heart gave me this wonderful pumpkin and a new turkey platter. Both from Crate and Barrel.

This friendly fowl was a RS project that my sister sent to me in kit form. He was so much fun to create!

This dapper Tom is stuffed and dressed for Thanksgiving. A project in progress for some time now that I finally got to. And, glad I did.

James' 17th Birthday

Did you think James didn't have a party this year? He had a party... it was a surprise party thrown by friends. One friend ended up as his date for the Sadie Hawkin's dance.
The face is the 'do not take my picture' face.

Double Rainbow

I do not take pictures of rainbows. But, I have to share what I saw while driving Cameron to scouts.

Do you see it? Two rainbows!

Extending across the sky. Do you see the second one above the brighter version?
Seriously across the sky.Amazing.

A Scarf for My Sister

Well that secret is out. What she might have to figure out is which color way I made for her. She will just have to wait for the package in the mail.

Raised Beds

Brian built these terraced raised beds for our raspberries, and other climbers.

Made from the fence that was replaced by the retaining wall.

Here is a strawberry.

and, here is the raised bed for the strawberries. We have 75+ plants in hopes of a productive spring.

Project Day Two

First came the painters tape over the white lines that made up the boarders of the states.

 And than, the colors.
Little kids, teens and adults came out to help.
 Here is James... supervising.

James decided to add his own detail to the map. We made stencils for the postal abbreviations for each state to add to the map.

All done. It looks great. Something that James can really be proud of.
