Never too old for Halloween

Here is James heading out for socializing and fun.

Knights that say Ni

Cameron chooses his costumes early. So this spring I was crocheting chain mail.

Good thing too. The weather was kind of cool this year. That extra layer kept him warm under the helmet.
Yes, we bought a coconut so he could make the sounds of a horse galloping.

Pumpkin Carving

Cameron and I carved pumpkins for FHE. I experimented with cutting away the skin on the eyes of this owl and creating texture on his chest.

Cameron made this skull and crossbones. SPOOKY! Happy Halloween.

Glass Block Trick or Treat

We had to make a new glass block for Halloween after we had our porch decorations stolen. Its a good thing this one is so easy. The vinyl was easy too. I had the file saved in my Cricut Craft Room!

Stolen!

Would you believe it? These decorations were taken from our porch on Saturday night after we were asleep. Hand made and one of a kind.

You would think that thrill seekers (those who snatch holiday decorations) would be drawn to more exciting objects than these not too scary - more humor than horror- cuddly spooks!
Is there a secondary black market for handcrafted items? Where do you fence something like this?
Can you trade these for drugs? I am perplexed trying to figure the motivation.
You know, if you knocked on my door... I would have been so flattered!

Halloween Bunting

I am disappointed that the picture is dark... The effect was very nice and I really liked the addition to my mantel.

My Spooky Family

These are the FAMILY blocks that I made on Super Saturday. It isn't enough... I made a second side to my FAMILY... a SPOOKY side. So, for just the month of October, I can turn the letters around.

Apothecary Bottles

Here is a work in progress...
These are jars that my dad would have found while plowing. He would bring these home and mom would line them up in the window. They were the first thing I thought of when I would see posts like this https://docs.google.com/file/d/0ByqBrC7onYtTODY5MTBlODQtZTEyZC00MTMyLTk0NjAtZmQ2MmZmNGEwZmZj/edit and this http://idoonadime.blogspot.com/2013/01/harry-potter-party.html.
I would like to fill with colored water or found items and wrap the tops with brown paper and twine or find corks just the right size... I am not sure where to go from here. But, its a start.

Happy 16th James

I asked James about going to a restaurant... Taking a group of friends to an all you can eat... having a family dinner with that chocolate cake from Costco. No to all ideas.
James just wanted to get to the part where he opens his gifts.

In the absence of any other birthday trappings, I did pick up the $5 cake from Safeway and Brian set it a flame.
Thank you all who sent cards and gifts. This was everything James wanted (I was a little let down).
