Easter Treats

We made a few treats for Easter... Like these candy coated pretzels and these bunny shaped rice crispy treats. The mold came from my mom... What you are seeing here are two large batches! It is hard to see the detail of the mold through the plastic wrap. They were really cute.

Cameron Earns his Arrow of Light

Cameron completed the Readyman and Naturalist Webelos badges this month and became eligible to earn the Arrow of Light award. And, with his birthday less than a month away participated in the crossing over ceremony.

That is when cub scouts cross over to boy scouts. This is his new scoutmaster for eleven year old's troop presenting Cameron with his arrow.

This is me getting the mom's pin and a hug from Cameron. Have I told you, I love the scouting program?

Cuddly Bantha

If you are not aware of a little book titled The Star Wars Craft Book by Bonnie Burton... it may be because you do not have a 10 year old self proclaimed "Star Wars Geek" living in your home.

I purchased the book to entertain Cameron over the Christmas break. You can buy yourself a copy at http://www.amazon.com/The-Star-Wars-Craft-Book/dp/0345511166/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1363967139&sr=8-1&keywords=star+wars+crafts
On page twenty two are instructions for making a Cuddly Bantha. Well, kinda. No dimensions or pattern provided. Just instructions. If you want to make one similar in size to Cameron's. I folded a sheet of paper in half to make the rectangle that the pattern is based on 5.5x8.5.

This week the book came out again when I asked Cameron to come up with a birthday list and party plan. On his list was 'Cuddly Bantha'.

Below is what a Bantha would look like if there were really such a thing as a Bantha on a planet far far away. We just had to make the horns a little more like the ones in this picture, to be more 'realistic'.
I purchased the materials and with not just a little pressure from Cameron, we completed the project this weekend. All sewn by hand. Cameron made the stumpy legs. So cute! and very cuddly. Makes you want to be a Tuskan raider.
