Brianna earned a Gold Key during the Scholastic Art Awards, Colorado Region. She submitted a self portrait. As a Gold Key winner, she would have qualified for Nationals and for scholarship. However, Brianna did not submit the additional 8 photos with her original submission required for the next level of judging. Sometimes Brianna can be self critical and disqualify herself before the judges get a chance to see her work. I was disappointed, but choose to focus on the honor she did receive. Later, Brianna said that she wished she had entered the additional pictures. I was proud of that. You never know unless you put yourself out there, how people will respond to your art.
Yum! this is Cameron's cake he designed and decorated for the Blue and Gold banquet. Not actually cake --- its a brownie. It was a huge hit. We took home very little. Even after everyone was stuffed with the lasagna pot luck.
