Klondike
James' patrol, for that matter everyone, left camp early due to winds. Winds that took the supplies, turned over tents and froze the scouts. Fortunately the 'leaders', boys facilitating the stops on the course, were camping in cabins this year and had hot food. The perks of moving up the food chain.

Pinewood Derby
Here is Cam's design for the Pinewood Derby this year. It will also give you a clue to the tune he has been arranging for piano too. He hums this tune and plays it and taps out the rhythm endlessly.

Still Christmas?
What's up with that. Our contractor is taking forever finishing the basement. A project that should have been wrapped up in less than 4 weeks was started in early December. I have no access to my storage area to put my Christmas decorations away. We have a fine layer of dust from the sanding the walls that has settled on every surface. Oh, I thought we would be done by now.
After all, my brother-in-law had helped us get the boards up and the first layer of mud way back in October. The final layers of mud were looking so good when we left on our Christmas vacation. We believed the contractor would be done by the time we got back. I am getting anxious and impatient.

Little House
Cam and I have been working on this project this last fall. He has off weeks from year round school. It is time we spend together working on projects that can count toward scout advancement. This is our 'build a model from a kit project'.
I got some furniture kits at Christmas from my mom to add to this house. So, don't think for a minute we are done. It may never be 'done'. We plan on using it as a decoration for Christmas each year.
We will add a decorated tree, miniature presents and other details in our project that my never end --- as we can add details to it every year.
