Easter Outfits

Here they are all dressed up for Easter. Brianna let me make a dress for her. For awhile now I've not been fashionable enough to even attempt this. Brianna saw a dress she loved, yet too expensive and too bare to wear. So, we did a pattern redo and came up with this number. The boys wore red ties to match the trim on B's dress. Aren't they handsome?

Young Womanhood Recognition

Brianna earned the award this April and received the award today.
She taught a cooking class as her final project, a companion project to an earlier effort that included self publishing her own cookbook.
We love the YW president. She is wonderful, supportive and has a way of bringing out the best.
We are so proud of her.

Setting up for the Lego Birthday Party

We just needed these cute marshmallow pops. They do look like those mini figure heads. Very fun to make.

Cam designed his cake. Chocolate and colorful.

Cam's Family Birthday

We gathered today to celebrate Cam's big day. It is different without family around, but my brother's and my sister's family and the Grandparents were represented. How exciting to get all this mail from the people we love.
Thank you.

Elementary School Concert

Cam was so concerned about this concert.
He did not want to go because the final song was just too embarrassing. I tried to figure out what could be so so embarrasing he would rather not go... The song is the standard featured in the Shrek movies. 'I'm a Believer". Evidently this song is too mushy. Just couldn't sing about love.

Lego Party Set Up

Setting up for this party included trying my hand at marshmallow pops. They were suppose to look like the heads of Lego's mini figures. Many people have blogged about this project, so a simple google search for Lego Marshmallow Pops should result in many images and project pictures. I wanted mine to look like these
but grocery store food grade markers left much to be desired. Fun project though.

C designed his cake and the place cards...

Life Award

Not exactly sure why it is so hard to get the boys to smile after they worked so hard to get these awards... I was tempted to goose him just to get an expression. Oh, well. Next stop Eagle Scout. James has earned a total of 18 merit badges and has given over 12 hours of service and helped train another scout toward advancement.
He should be smiling.

Up-cycling

So, for Audrey's graduation quilt, I am using up salvaged materials. Old blankets and left over fleece for the batting, John's old t-shirts from working at Audrey's high school, and old jeans. I have plenty of the t-shrts, and more than enough batting, but I am running short of jean fabric. The peices are 6.5" square.

This is the back.
